Rest, Restore and Rejuvenate Your Soul with Reiki | Bridget Hooper
Fall 2020 | Rest
As I lay down to rest, I put my hands into prayer and I give thanks for my day - thankful for the people I have met, and grateful for what I have. I then place my hands on my heart and invite in the Reiki energy into my body and I say the Reiki principles:
Just for today do not anger
Just for today do not worry
Just for today be humble
Just for today be honest in your work
Just for today be compassionate to yourself and others
Bridget, Soul Circus' resident Reiki practitioner
Reiki: The secret art of inviting happiness. The miraculous medicine of all diseases
As I say these words a smile crosses my lips, a warm glow fills my heart, and I relax knowing that I am blessed to have Reiki in my life and grateful for the universal energy that is running through my body, it warms my heart and leads to feelings of gratitude which is how I fall asleep. These words help me to clear my mind of distractions or worry and give me a confidence that everything is going to be ok, and so aids a restful nights sleep.
I know I am blessed to receive a restful sleep, but it has taken work. I have a daily Reiki practice, which enables me to sleep soundly every single night. It is possible to improve your sleep with the addition of Reiki in your life.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes self healing for the mind, body, and soul. It is delivered by channelling universal energy to the body, through the laying on of hands. This life force, prana flows through all of us and is what makes us alive. If one's life force energy is low, then we are more likely to feel sad or ill and if it is high we are likely to be happier and healthier.
Reiki works on all levels of our human consciousness, it is an holistic system. It is an intelligent energy that works for the good of the recipient.
Reiki has the capacity to change your life, like it has changed mine. Reiki is a blessing, a gift from the universe and something I believe can improve everyones lives.
I have the confidence to declare this from seeing the changes in many of my clients lives.
You can receive Reiki by receiving a treatment from a qualified practitioner or by learning the system of Reiki from a Reiki master practitioner.
Some well documented benefits of Reiki are:
- Promotes harmony and balance
- Creates deep relaxation and helps the body release stress and tension
- Assists the body by cleansing itself of toxins and supports the immune system
- Clears the mind and improves focus as you feel grounded and centred
- Aids better sleep
A Reiki practitioner can deliver a Reiki treatment in about one hour which will give your body a boost so that it can start to heal itself on all levels. A treatment feels like a wonderful radiant glow that flows around and through you. It is likely that you will feel heat and will feel the movement of energy throughout your body. I can guarantee you will feel relaxed and rejuvenated even after one session. Most people naturally go into a meditative state without even trying and everyone is surprised at how different just one hours treatment can make.
This is not a miracle cure by any means, but attending regular sessions with a practitioner can make a startling difference to your emotional health and well being.
Learning the system of Reiki will have the most benefit to you. This will enable you to boost your own energy levels on a daily basis. This way you can create a daily practice of relaxation and healing, and therefore improve your rest and sleep considerably.
There are three learning degrees for traditional Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho:
Level I Shoden
Level II Okuden
Level III Shipinden
Learning first degree Reiki takes one day, and is delivered by a Reiki Master Practitioner.
Reiki uses techniques that enables you to improve your own health and well being. It is a system and therefore anyone can learn it. Reiki brings us back to our true nature, enabling us to shine our light brightly in the world. In its essence Reiki is a meditation practice leading to a deep state of relaxation which then creates space for your body to heal itself.
As our world is filled with more and more interference, it get can become difficult to find the peace and quiet we lust for in our daily lives. Some of us are looking at ways to become superhuman so that we can achieve everything we need to in a day. It’s even more important to take some time out, to rest and relax to maintain optimum energy levels and to achieve the outputs we desire.
Too much “doing” and not enough “being” is exhausting on all levels. Busyness can create weariness. Allowing the soul to rest invites contemplation and reflection.
Reiki is about giving yourself that space, space to practice self care, space to practice self love, space that will aid in regeneration and rejuvenation of your mind, body, and soul.
